I think by giving students a chance to decide what they will research it will help them to be self-directed. Timelines will help because it is a constant reminder of how well they have used their time.
Differentiation allows students of different backgrounds, educational experiences and interests to be able to put together a qualtiy project in a way that is meaningful to them. I also think that differentiation in the projects will also keep my attention and interest since there will be over 100 (hopefully) turned in and presented.
