I think by giving students a chance to decide what they will research it will help them to be self-directed. Timelines will help because it is a constant reminder of how well they have used their time.
Differentiation allows students of different backgrounds, educational experiences and interests to be able to put together a qualtiy project in a way that is meaningful to them. I also think that differentiation in the projects will also keep my attention and interest since there will be over 100 (hopefully) turned in and presented.

Student assessment: I will set up a class blog similar to the one we are using for intel in order to have them communicate with each other. I will set up the blog to only allow proper replies and messages to avoid inappropriate and un-necessary responses.

Module 4 Reflection
How can technology be used most effectively to support and assess student learning?
Technology can provide a large range of information from which to learn. It can also be used to assess learning in a number of ways. Students can provide individual evidence of learning through thoughts (blog, wiki), published work or graphs and charts explaining the data.
Technology enables the assessment to often times be more enjoyable for the student and also provide a change in the normal routine of the school day.

Summary of Wed
I like the online communication possibilities. I want to try the skype with my parents to be able to call without using minutes and be able to see them. I think Hannah (my 5 yr. old) would enjoy that.

I really think the CFQs allow me to have students answer questions that best help them understand the TEKS rather than a drawn out project or lab that is interesting yet doesn't answer the correct question.

Module 1
21st-century learning requires students to not only obtain information but to also find ways to be inventive and creative. The challenge is to become efficient in their learning because of the high volume of information available to them and required of them to learn.
Projects can help students by allowing them to get in-depth study about a concept or topic while taking more ownership of their learning.
